Rick & Michelle
Hey there - My name is Rick Hageman, and the beautiful woman to my left is my lovely wife, Michelle.  Chell & I are both vapers.  She became a full time vaper about 2 years after I did.

A little over five years ago, I saw a co worker with an e-cig, and I asked what it was.  I did some research and decided it was worth a try.  My plan was to cut down my tobacco cost by substituting an e-cig here and there.  I had no intention of quitting smoking.  It was primarily driven by the desire to cut down on the cost of cigs.  What happened next really surprised me...

On June 15, 2009, I bought a standard 510 and a couple cig flavored liquids.  Even though I didn't like the taste of the liquid that much - something happened because after three days, I just lost my desire for cigarettes, and decided I liked the e-cig better.  I think knowing I could experiment with flavorings had a lot to do with it.  Four years later, I make our own liquids, have experienced all the health benefits that most of us talk about, and think it is the best thing to happen to me since my Wife and Kids.  I thought I'd always smoke, and probably die a horrible death because of tobacco.  Because the PV caused me to quit "accidentally", I believe it has saved my life.  I hope the same for you.

Generally speaking, Absolute Wood is me...  I run the whole show.  From design and CAD drafting; selection of woods; fabrication from rough re-sawing of lumber, surfacing, laminating, milling, routing, sanding and finishing.  I'm the photographer, graphic artist, buyer, mail room clerk, and general gopher for the business.

My father was a woodworker and I learned to be comfortable and useful in a wood shop from a young age.  I worked as a Cabinet & Furniture Maker for eight years before going back to school over twenty years ago to do what my main career is now - a Mechanical Designer working in the field of cryogenic gas distillation.  My drafting and design skills come from this endeavor.

Before cabinet and furniture making, I first attended our local community college after high school as a Photography / Graphic Arts major.  I worked as a portrait, wedding, fashion and commercial product photographer for several years.  As a result, all of the product images seen here on this website have been shot by myself.  I actually still work as a photographer - Altsmoke, Electronicstix & Truesmoker are a few of the online websites I've done photography for.

Thanks to great software available now, I even managed to create this website.  I've got a lot to learn, but will somehow muddle through it...
